1.6 Riverland Farm Is OP Now – Stardew Valley
The 1.6 Update has completely changed the way you can play on a Riverland Farm! This time, it introduces a fish smoker, enabling a ridiculously efficient farming method! Fish the whole day on day 2, get a fiberglass rod and some bait with the rest of your money,
Then continue fishing until you pass out, aiming for fishing level 3 or 4. On day 3, pick up your fish smoker, place it with a chest near Jodi’s house, and fish right there until around 9 AM. Then go to Willy, sell all your fish,
Buy 2 trout soups and bait with the rest of your money, eat trout soup, and reach fishing level 4. Continue fishing the whole day until you pass out. At level 5, including the trout soup, you’ll be catching gold catfish in this spot! Smoke it between catches with the coal you get from chests.
Reach natural level 5 by the end of the day and pick the fisher profession. Now you can sell all your fish for a huge profit, as each smoked gold catfish is worth 750 gold! At level 10, it’s worth 900, making you a ridiculous amount of money every rainy day! Enjoy!

If you're unlucky with coal in chests, make it in a charcoal kiln later or buy from Clint – it's still profitable!
i feel like only fish smoker is not worth it, Playing river farm right now, and the fish in river farm always get low quality than in river or town. Why i lose so much energy just for a sliver catfish? and even if you get perfect you can only have gold quality.
Too much river while you don't need that much water for fishing, and don't have enough space. Beach farm is better tbh if you want focus on fishing, even have space to place fish pond
