Beating Terraria with my Palworld Class
This video is the second and the last part to my P world mod develop play through and hard mod turned out a lot more complex than I anticipated if you haven’t seen the first video don’t worry I made the mod allowing the player to capture NPCs and use them like minions
And hard mode is where things get challenging let’s get started I have two goals at this point getting the spider armor set for more minions and damage and finding a good NPC to capture and defeat the mechanical buses with with that in mind I went underground and did
Some scouting a lot of you asked me to make NPCs easier to see so I added arrows above them I also added more capturable AI styles with casters such as imps and flying fishes the new NPCs available in hard mode meant a lot more options to pick from and to be honest it
Was a bit overwhelming at this point I added a bunch of biome fed capture spheres with 200% increased damage and capture threshold bonuses in specific biomes to compensate I reduce the capture threshold of the normal sphere to 10 % instead of 15% meaning you’ll have to damage your target more before
Capturing it the one I will be aiming for right now is the underground capture sphere with bonuses in Purity caverns and Ice underground biomes it is made with diamonds and platinum bars I went to the jungle biome searching for moonglows which I would be using to make spell Ander potions tortoises Can Be
Tamed now and I won’t complain if I can catch a few op mobs like that right off the bat I played with a crab statue for a while and I wonder if one of them could be used to to create actually powerful enemies to tame but I’ll leave
You guys to figure it out I’m clearly undergeared for this biome and I didn’t last very long turns out I had actually found a Moonglow without noticing it so I didn’t do all that for nothing I found a rock Golem which I didn’t even know existed and seemed like
A super strong capture to get and I mean look at that how I’m is supposed to die with a bodyguard like this I eventually found the diamond and platinum I needed and got my underground capture here I was going to need it with the time I’m
Going to spend in caves while I’m at it I might as well go for the sky capture sphere which requires happy feathers and clouds to be made it is effective in all the above ground parts of the map and not only the sky making it a staple in
Terms of usability there is one final capture sphere that can be crafted by using all the other capture spheres in the mod that is effective everywhere but I’m not going for it in this video it requires SS from the mechanical bosses too so no point in rushing it in a
Normal play through I noticed a bug where it is not possible to switch in and out of capture and combat formations while holding a sphere other than the basic one as a reminder these formations are triggered using a keybind and tamed NPCs will not kill other mobs while in
Capture formation only get them low enough to Be Tamed I went up in the sky found a sky island and farmed everything I needed to get my new sphere I’m probably going to be using a lot more archers in the future as they seem to make grinding really easy without taking
Any damage damaged Themselves the bug was a very stupid one I was simply checking if the item in the player hand was specifically the basic sphere instead of any capture sphere before trying to switch formations with my new spheres in hand I went back to the underground to try and find the
Spider biome I found the wizard which was useless I got the pig run and the nymph which were both cool but pretty bad died to a bat went back down got sidetracked died again captured some more stuff and died more before eventually finding a spider
Cave the goal now is to make a nice farming area where I would be able to grind a ton of black recloses to get my spider armor notice that spiders can be tamed now because with the majority of Summoners going for them as soon as hard mode begins it wouldn’t make any sense
For them not to be that traveling Merchant didn’t sell anything interesting but I bought a clock because it looked cool before going back to setting up my grinding area in no time I was set up and could almost AFK my way Out it’s almost disappointing that the eye of Tulu won’t spawn in Caverns regardless it was destroyed and I crafted my armor set with it I get one more minion slots which means two more capture slots I needed to start farming Souls of Night to grab the mechanical boss’s items and
Went to the underground Crimson I found the golfer which is super useful a mechanical skull which is going to save me quite a bit of time and this thing which yeah I I think I know what I’m going to be using against the mech bosses most definitely without the
Crimson capture sphere I am definitely too weak to effectively capture enemies in this biome and I need vertebrae to craft the mechanical warm for the Destroyer I decided to kill two birds with one stone and went into the prehard mode Crimson biome the evil capture sphere is made with tissue samples and
Cram Tain bars and as expected the brain of Tulu didn’t stand any chance against chant bats and black I got a mechanical eye and at this point I was hoping I could skip the metal Anvil grind allog together smashing the Crimson hers for the brain of Tulu meant
A goblin army would eventually arrive to which would give me access to reforges and accessory upgrades surely wouldn’t take too long right right I grinded the vertebrae I needed and used the Knight as an opportunity to defeat the Skeletron and get access to the dungeon which would cly be useful later I used
The fight to test how strong a Floy grow B would be since they are pretty common and a single one was close to taking out the Boss by itself with my new capture sphere I went into the underground crimson and started capturing Eco stickers for the mechanical buses I’m confident the Flying Carpet
Combined with the sandstorm in the bottle will give me enough Mobility for the fight and should replace wings I swapped the guide and the nurse housings though for no reason in particular okay I definitely needed Wings eor stickers really carried the fight and I had to
Use the nurse a lot of times which I don’t like doing once spazmatism died though a single flock of fty gross was enough to take care of raser and finish the fight even though I dislike choing bses with the nerves I’m going to take this win I
Definitely need more gear though and we prepare more for upcoming bosses if only the Goblin Army could arrive at some point there’s no way we’ll be able to avoid grinding for a midr landville Now isn’t it I crafted the mechanical warm to summon the destroyer but at this point I’m still clearly not strong enough to defeat it the first step was to find an enemy that will deal a lot of damage and will be easy to find in large quantities I instantly F of spiders and started
Farming trying to get some more quick Summoner upgrades I built a few NPC houses to get the witch doctor got this cool vanity set from the cloth here went to the dungeon so I could find a bing table for more captures got a jetpack from the steampunker and did some
Decoration I still needed more houses and the witch doctor arrived just in time right before the night I got my pygmy necklace and decided to spend my blood moon farming for more spiders for the Destroyer fight just in case I hav’t got a water candle from the dungeon to
Speed up the process I noticed another bug where the NPC damage reduction in capture mode didn’t account for summon damage bonuses meaning capturable NPCs will be killed even in capture mode once you start getting some gear I fixed it and went back to farming spiders the Destroyer was a lot easier than the
Twins as Spider got rid of it in under 30 seconds I even took the opportunity to capture a bunch of probs after the fight after a little bit of preparation I started the skeleton Prime fight and wings definitely made dodging extremely Easy I ran out of captures to try him at the end but Ching whatever I had left was enough to defeat it I got myself a full hallowed armor the next step is planta and I found the bub right next to my Arena I knew I only had one shot at getting such
A well-placed one so I started preparing as well as I could without surprise not having the jungle capture sphere wasn’t going to cut it and I started farming for it I needed Stingers Vines and jungle spores to craft it I dyed a lot and found two moths which I obviously
Tamed after a while I got everything I needed and after a while I got everything I needed and crafted my new sphere another bus and another grinds this time the obvious choice was clearly most Hornets but I also stacked on wall creepers and giant Tortoises I had an army at this point and the poor planter didn’t stand a Chance I found the jungle temple shortly after which immediately warned me of the fun to come if you tell me you saw that trap you’re a liar I made a shortcut to get to the temple faster and Blaze through it with my swarm of creatures after making the final room safer I fac Golem M Hornets turned out a bit weak against these BS and it’s a good thing I ran off them because I would probably have died if I swapped to Jungle creepers any later their base damage of 100 compared to the max 72 of the Hornets really made a huge difference
And their ability to work on the walls made them super reliable I got a Ticky armor for a quick white hold on I got a Ticky armor for a quick upgrade and moved the witch doctor to the jungle biome so I could get a herles beetle
From him while waiting for the night I went to the dungeon to go to difficulty of the cultist and don’t mind if I Do I didn’t have enough Cannon f for the fight but as expected it didn’t seem too hard I would have to be careful with its projectiles though as they can easily clear my captures I needed heavy hitting easy to get flying creatures and out of the flying snakes in the jungle Temple I found some more gold and bought that Hercules beetle for more summon damage before going for the cultist again actually prepared this Time flying snakes was super good but the fight was way too close for comfort this is where the game becomes absoltely unfair everyone has experienced the pillars and you should know how brutal they can be when unprepared most enemies move too fast for captures to catch up and blast
Through them with projectiles I tried reaching the dungeon thinking I’d be able to get my hands on paladins skeleton snipers and the like but they turned out to be too rare to be found reliaable on the bright side I found a bug where tamed in pieces with spawn
Friendly dungeon spirits that try to attack the player but can’t I fixed it by making dungeon Spirits stable and giving them a custom Behavior once again I needed reliable flying captures to deal with the pillars so I went into the underground jungle and made a massive stash of everything I could Find with my new F Army I started powering to the pillars just kidding I was still getting obliterated but at least I was making some progress and eventually got rid of the Stardust pillar the solar pillar was easier once I figured that my grounded captures could protect me effectively from most
Enemies and projectiles I started using them as a shield and slowly grinding at the pillar you may think that capturing enemies will be a good idea and it probably is but there are so many of them and they deal so much damage that it is impossible most of the time I
Still manag to capture a dark Canon which turned out a bit underwhelming summoning a bunch of tortoises I pushed for the pillar and got rid of it next up was the nebula pillar and using the same mid Shield strategy as the solar pillar I made some quick progress some enemies however were
Launching homing piercing projectiles that butchered through my captures and after fighting for a while my STS were starting to dwindle I tamed the predictor which was very underwhelming and most Hornets were just too weak to deal with the en is at this point I went back to the temple and
Stood there for a while capturing enough flying snakes to last me a lifetime grinding like this is not the most interesting and in the realist version capturing a single NPC with a biome sphere will give two or three when using the universal capture sphere which is a
Post mechanical boss item as the end game approaches the amount of captures you need is exponential and after plent hour it becomes too much I spent more than two hours sitting in the temple capturing Flame Snakes in this play through and I don’t want you to have the

Storm divers which were super fast flying n pces fing a barage of projectors they are hard to get but I’m sure getting a few of them will make the moon lorder Bree I eventually summoned the army of alien quein and got rid of the final pillar with impending Duma poring I summoned what would likely be my best combination of captures a bunch of alen quins and the two storm divers I managed to capture the fight went awfully wrong
And I immediately died I crafted the celestial sedle and while I was thinking about what to do next goblins attacked remember that Goblin Army I was waiting for during the entire playr it took them almost 7 hours of play time to finally decide to invade my world I paused for a
Moment and summon the best creature I could think of alien Queens have proven to be pretty bad as they fire slow and inaccurate projectiles and I didn’t have any storm divers left I will need an endgame creature that would be strong enough to carry me through this fight
And defeat the moon Lord on this second try or I would have to clear the pillars all over again flying serpents it it was flying serpents the plan was s for flying serpents at the bus until it died I’m not here to be fancy and so far they
Are the only NPC that has never disappointed me and isn’t comically hard to farm for they were very slow and I’m sure there are solutions that would be a lot better but by standing still and giving them the time to reach the eyes they dealt a ton of damage to the bus I

you should make the bosses obtainable, maybe by the time you reach hardmode you would be able to tame the early hardmode bosses (for wall of flesh maybe you could just have his eyes and jaw orbit around you), and after defeating golem you could capture any boss up to golem, and after moon lord you could get a new endgame sphere that allowed you to capture every boss including moon lord himself
Make it so you can give your NPCs guns like in palworld

I like how Pal world's system got a full fledged and fleshed out mod before Pokemon…
Any pokemon mod doesn't turn the game into a creature capture… It just adds Pokemon NPCs or normal summons at best…
depending on how comfortable you are with making in game menus, It could be a good Idea to let people have some more options for sorting their captures. It seems like being able to favorite or reserve an npc in an inventory type of thing (could model a station for it after the one from palword) could be good for boss prep. A mod config could also be very useful for playability, being able to chose between options like an outline, and arrow, or opacity/display priority for identifying your captures could improve playability for people with different preferences. another thing could be to let the player recover perished captures, this could make it more rewarding to collect rare npcs.

how about an item that allows you to slowly heal your captured creatures? i'd imagine someone seeing the process of capturing a new bunch of creatures after the old one died as a chore of sorts, so this kind of an item might reduce the grind a little.
tbh, anything that allows for more interaction with your summons – perhaps even something beyond simply healing – would always be fun. i love your mods and vids, keep up the good work!

I feel like a hotkey that opens up a menu so you can sort through your captures and get rid of ones you don’t want and select captures you do want would be a great quality of life addition. I’ve been super excited for this mod since I saw the first video and am super excited to play it!

I like the idea of using existing enemies instead of summons but I have a couple issues with it.
1. It seems to have the same problem as summer when it came out and we didn't have whips. You just stand around and do nothing while minions do everything. Idk if whips work with the mod(?) but if not they should. Or maybe going full pokemon/palworld and make it so the player can give commands on the fly
2. This ties to the first but most enemies when tamed seem samey. I like the different capture spheres added in this video. I'd like it if we could lean more into that and use pokemon elemental logic. So evil biomes monsters could work better against the hollow enemies, jungle vs dungeon, surface vs underground, etc.
Also a way to maybe buff enemies from certain areas with accessories specific to that area
3. The natural abilities of enemies like ichor stickers with ichor, or hornets with poison attacks are great. But I'd also like to be able to "command" those. Going back to the first point again, the alternative play style opposed to regular summoner. Throughout the video you had to use the nurse to heal, or just a large quantity of enemies to tank. Would be interesting if some captured enemies could "cast" protection or healing on the player. We would have to decide how many healing minions we'd have compared to attacking ones. It could create different play styles. Someone would prioritize movement and damage while others would tank and heal, etc.
4. A better selection system of which minions you have and which are released could be nice. Having to suicide minions you don't want currently seems like unnecessary work in the middle of a battle

What version of Tmod are you coding in? I am currently making a mod and one of the things I'm changing about summoners is that all summons will now have hp and can die just like the ones in your mod. I think it would make the summoner more summon based vs just summoning and running away.

Not sure how hard it would be to implement but I noticed that the captchured enemies don't inflict debuffs unlike thier normal variants (eg ichor stickers) so maybe you could change that
Overall this class look pretty fun, you mainly need to balance out the post-plantera stage and it's gonna be great!
could you add a pal box? so you can manage your npc’s.
also i think wveryn and pigron could have a saddle you can use to mount them? the saddle being a craftable and you have to have the npc to use it.
I’m really glad you added the biome spheres to the game, and they definitely made progression feel a lot more linear, and that you had more to strive for, Although I’m kind of disappointed that the last sphere wasn’t the “terra sphere” or maybe a “zodiac sphere” as a palworld zenith equivalent. Anyways, despite the fact that you said you’re done with the mod, I’m still gonna give you some suggestions on balancing/mechanics that I think could be added to the mod.
First, I noticed that you’re playing in normal mode, so you didn’t explore the possibilities of expert mode exclusive accessories or spheres that could drop from bosses. I think the grind for spheres could’ve definitely been simplified if they were tied to boss drops, instead of being crafted from biome materials, and that would’ve given room to have some boss spheres be upgraded in hardmode, either with the mech souls or hallowed bars. For instance the eye of Cthulhu could drop an “all seeing sphere” which would be a forest/caverns biome sphere, and in hardmode after you defeated the twins you could upgrade it to the “terminators eye” which would be the same sphere but with a considerable damage increase, plus an increased capture rate.
Second, I think minions should have increased/decreased stats for the biomes they’re in to encourage the use of different minions and to use different spheres. I’m not sure what the margin would be for the stats, but I imagine it would work similarly to the npc happiness system. So for instance, demons or fire imps would get a +30% health and damage increase when used in hell, a +15% hp and dmg increase in the caverns/underground, a 15% decrease of dmg and hp if used in the jungle, forest, crimson and desert, and a 30% decrease of dmg and hp if used in the ocean or the tundra (ice biome). I understand if you don’t want to add a system like this, as not only is it a pain to code, but it also messes with the balancing, but I still think that something along these lines would be a cool addition for the mod. Maybe tweak the percentages a little.
Third, I think a complete overhaul could be made in terms of the spheres actually damaging enemies, and instead of throwing a sphere, each sphere conjures a bow around the sphere itself (like the one in palworld that you use before you get good pals) to damage enemies to the point of capturing, and then you can throw the sphere at them. This won’t require any arrows, and I think it would function similarly to the role of whips for summoners, and maybe each sphere/bow could even apply summon tag damage, but only tied to the use of the bow. As for a balance change in this regard, I think the actual sphere that you throw should have a massively reduced damage, to encourage actually using the bow function of the sphere. Adding a bow function to all spheres would also help when you run out of summons to use, especially if you’re grinding or fighting bosses.
Fourth, (and probably the last since I’m running out of brain juice) I think there could be a storage system in place for your summons, so that you can sort through which ones you actually want to use, and which ones you’ll save for later. Maybe something like one of the pokebox things in Pokémon (don’t know if palworld has one) where you can store Pokémon, but instead you’ll just be swapping around your summons and maybe even disabling some of them (so that they won’t be released). Similarly, you could have an item in your inventory that can just open up the UI for the box wherever you are, (tied to a keybind) so that you can swap around your summons on the fly.
Oh and since I remembered, but I don’t want to draw this out any longer, maybe some accessories that boost projectiles or physical damage, but decreases the other.
ANYWAY, even without these additions, I think this is a neat little content mod that is worth doing a playthrough of, and it compliments summoner well. I am now out of brain juice. Goobye

an item unlocked mid/late PHM that lets you catch your town NPCs (maybe Flymeal + Clothier Doll?)
special post all-mechs palsphere that can catch KS, EoC, and the evil bosses, but not skeletron due to his funny day attack, only 1 boss would be summonable at a time
I have an idea, you can make it so that instead of capturing mobs for hours they will go on cooldown for some time before can be summoned again? Time depends on mob or you can make it a ingame stat, i hope you'll see this one

Hey guys, did you know that in terms of male Terrarian and female monster breeding, the Nymph is the most compatible monster for Terrarians? Not only are the bipedal and relatively mammalian, but Nymphs are also near the Terrarian's height & proportions. This means they're just right in size to handle Terrarian d—s, and with their decent HP value and defence, you can be rough with one. Due to their apparently effeminate biology, there's no doubt in my mind that an aroused Nymph would be reasonably wet, wet enough to mate with one for hours if you wanted. Their initial appearance that they use to lure in unsuspecting Terrarians is also very human, along with their propensity for not covering up with clothing, so it'd be incredibly easy for one to get you in the mood. With their humanoid appearance and humanlike disguised form, they'd likely be easily taken care of in ways similar to how you would take care of yourself. No other monster comes close to this level of compatibility. Also, fun fact, but if you can manage to communicate with one, you can even get it to stick to its disguised form!
Always wanted something like this as a mod
You should either make this after you kill the boss, with cheats or end game. You should able to capture bosses but they are like mini versions.
