Have you used this Terraria option that nobody cares? ─ Autopause is the Light mode of Terraria.
In e oh a l of all a he that oh
If Terraria isn’t enough: Customize your own Terraria! There are many options for you to edit in Terraria, in case you didn’t know. The graphic options, the sound volume, but then there are other misc options as well, such as the one that pauses the game every time when you open up the inventory..? Yes, autopause feature is one of the oldest, and most questionable option in my opinion.

Normally I use auto-pause during boss battles, when I have to rearrange the items in my hand, or I have to breathe and think, I find it useful especially on mod bosses
I play on Switch so I love autopause, and I think even if I was a PC gamer I’d still have the option on bc I like having all the time I need to think without something happening like an enemy attacking me
So that’s my hot take 🔥
Auto pause is useful when youre fighting something and need to change something in your inventory quickly.

Hoooooooold on, you telling me the ability to stop time is an underused feature?
i only use autopause during boss fights so i can check notifications on discord, or any other thing that grabs my attention
The windows movie maker bit with Sonic Mania music was funny. I wonder how the autopause works, because some animations on objects don't stop, but the rest of the game is frozen.
I remember using autopause only because Tobuscus uses it in his playthrough
There is another game setting, that allows to control time a little bit – it is frame skip. It makes bosses a lot easier to dodge (i am not strong in eng srry)
Tbh auto pause is also usefull to open trap chests and steal everthing before you die
Autofire comes from the old dedicated mobile version to make it easier to play. After the PC Version was ported to mobile with 1.3 Autofire was also implemented there so it technically existed since 1.3. As the new mobile version got ported to Consoles with 1.4 it was also on the Consoles so with 1.4.4 they cleaned up the inconsistencies and enabled it for the PC.
Speaking of the old mobile and console versions, these versions had a fullscreen inventory that took away the control of the character similar to MineCraft so autopause was needed or else it would be unfair in caves, but after 1.3 on mobile and 1.4 on consoles this feature is theoretically not needed anymore but they probably left it for unexpirienced players to make it easier to use the inventory while fighting.
I use it on modded terraria to spawn a ton of bosses overlapping eachother (eg. seven planteras at once), really adds difficulty
I used autopause when I shouldn't have been playing terraria at all, so I didn't die to a demon eye or something when I had to tab out to pretend to be doing schoolwork.
who DOESN’T always use autopause
I Used To Use It As I Play On Xbox But Eventually I Realised I Was Good Enough To Have It Turned Off, So I Did That.
It is very useful on mobile, trust me
