These Terraria weapons are a masterclass in balance…

Following on from our previous Terraria Luna weapon comparison we have another powerful set to inspect and let me tell you this is going to be a close one as the devs really went all out uring these things share as many Pros as the do cons oh of course I’m talking about the

Projectile fist nebula Blaze and universe flinging nebula Arcanum now what intrigues me about these weapons so much is unlike the very black and white solar Alternatives there’s no clear WI in terms of what definitely should be used against what however we’ll try our best today to get the most out of both

Of them before we do jump into that though if you enjoy these weapon reviews don’t forget to drop a like and sub as it really helps out okay then let’s begin shall we of course before beginning anything we’ve got to get those fragments which luckily for us is

Made relatively easy due to the Mage class’s distinct power C at this progression point so with awesome homing weapons like the night glow and St tun Bean available demolishing your cultist shouldn’t be too hard and when it comes to breezing for your nebula pillar even something like the razor blade typhoon

Will offer plenty of offense to get the job done all right now with the nebula fragments in hand you’ll most likely be given enough to craft both the Blaze and Arcanum so the real question at this point is what will these Beauties do for you this is really where realogic

Balance team shines through we’ve both been fantastic in the Run ripe starting with the nebula blaze a fast firing pink magic dispenser which although looks mightily inaccurate on First Impressions does come with some serious built-in humming so we will be using super dummies going forward also in addition

To this steady 800 odd DPS you see here the blaze does have another trip up its sleeve with at having a one in5 chance to fire a blue larger projectile which deals at whopping three times the weapons based damage causing some serious anomalies with its DPS and

Really if we take what we see here I say this weapon in many ways mirrors these saw the pillar’s Daybreak which if you take into account the general DPS increase you’ll see from homing and of course at the inevitable Mana sickness you’ll get because my God these things

Aren’t cheap to fire you’ve basically got yourself a long ranged major version of its melee alternative so knowing this we’d probably assume the nebula Arcanum is going to be a multi-target version of this weapon but ha not quite it’s already just on this single Target now

DPS is a good 20% higher than the as for mentioned Blaze but what could Poss Poss L be the compromises to achieve this because it’s similarly got good homing massive range and actually does still beat on the multi-target test thanks to some piercing and truthfully the weaknesses of this weapon won’t be seen

Until put against some real tests so let’s do that shall we and first going back to the nebula Blaze much like the Daybreak we’ve got a single Target Monster here dealing upwards of 5,000 DPS with its lightning fast projectiles that his big bulky single Target and speaking of fast project projectiles

This is the one thing I found the nebula Arcanum alternative to really struggle with oh and I guess it’s increased Mana first too the thing is though as you can see here even with its slower drifting projectiles which float around the screen I think it’s safe to say it

Demolished The Blaze and both these tests with the sustain of these projectiles seriously resulting in some mind-blowing damage numbers however one big thing keeping in mind is what are you actually going to be doing after obtaining these things yeah it’s the madman himself the moonl Lord which in a

Typical fight will involve a serious amount of fast movement around your world like we’re talking of upwards of 70 mes per hour here which as you can see gives the nebula Blaze absolutely no trouble keeping up with its vulnerable hit points whereas the more powerful nebula arcanium does begin to struggle

In this fight resulting a long-term loss in DPS but saying that I’ve got to be fair here as I’ve seen plenty of people decimate the moon with this instead so it really depends on how risky you are with your strategies as if you keep yourself still one stack of NAA

Projectiles will be sure to obliterate any ey touches and this then leads me on to appreciating just how well balanced these weapons really are as all the great packs of the arenum probably come from its harder ease of use which at a time where fast Mobility is essential

Might put a lot of players off whereas on the blaze side of things you’re pretty much guaranteed a lesser but more consistent DPS against anything you throw at it so for any anything that’s not a fast moving boss and use the Arcanum but for that final crucial fight

Stick with your Blaze as always though it’s really down to what you enjoy using the most this has been self prz and I’ll see you in the next one

These Terraria weapons are a masterclass in balance… The Nebula Blaze and the Nebula Arcanum. Continuing on our Terraria lunar pillar weapon comparison series, we have the two fantastic additions of the Nebula pillar, the blaze and Arcanum. Which each offer some fantastic offence for both groups and single targets. So the question is, with so close matching pros and cons, which one should you use for what? Lets find out! Enjoy!

  1. the nebula arcanum could be the worst weapon in the game for all its worth and it would STILL be my favorite weapon in the entire game, throwing literal black holes at people you dislike or minor inconveniences is a level of spite unmatched by any other.
sorry blaze gang! i cant hear you over the literal universal collapse i yeeted at you! (no hate they're both cool <3)

  2. Arcanum is an underrated JEWEL of late hardmode. Several of these can obliterate almost any boss it touches. Moreover, like the Vilethorn, it's another one of those weapons that is great for crowding the space on-screen and coaxing bosses to fly face first into the projectiles.

  3. One great thing about the Arcanum is it's benefits when playing multiplayer. If one player distracts the Moon Lord and runs away, the mage player can stack up hundreds of the Arcanum projectiles. The other player can then loop back and guide the Moon Lord through the projectiles for tons of damage. I used this strategy with a friend once and it worked really well with the Specter Hood as you could then heal the other player after their run while still dealing some hefty damage. We also used to stack up loads before the fight by throwing them into a wall allowing them to slow down and stay in one area ready to home in as soon as Moon Lord spawns.

This is the first comment I've made on a sockrteez video but I have to say that I've found these videos really entertaining, I've watched the majority of your catalogue at this point and I love the content! Keep it up!

  4. I love how with both the Nebula and Solar weapons, both their weapons have their individual strengths and weaknesses over each other without one just flat-out being a better version of the other

That's how all the pillar weapons should be imo

  5. The mage class is my favorite of the four, and yes, I admit that at the beginning it can be a little complicated or tedious to use, but it ends up being excellent. Mage post Moon Lord, is a true glass cannon, compensating for his low resistance with abysmal DPS

  6. I do think every Lunar Pillar weapon needs to at least be good at either Moonlord or the Pillar event itself.
The Arcanum is powerful but its slow projectiles make it extremely hard to use in the fast paced fight of the Moonlord.
Though a high damage, high crowd control weapon do wonders for the Pillars if you need to fight them again. The Razorblade Typhoon, likely the next best option, in my experience does low damage, even if it is mindless. Against the Solar Pillar in particular, low damage, high sustain, can be a death sentence as they charge at you really fast.

  7. the arcanum is so inconsistant and it's really useless , sure it's good against events and slow moving bosses , but the fast bosses start apearing in hardmode , and except for the nebula pillars idk what you're going to use it for since you've got 2 stronger weapons after that even against events

  8. You should review the lunar flare
Like, why does the last prism get all the love, the lunar flare deserves the spotlight and is just generally better
    Would love to see it

  9. I remember back then i used to craft both. Than I started to craft blaze only, for moonlord. Now I'm back to craft both, as razorblade isn't as great as it was pre 1.4.4, so arcanum is great at group control.

  10. It won't even be a contest for the next two class pillar weapon comparison, Phantasm is just insane, even if the Vortex Beater is just a good weapon that's easier to use, the Phantasm just completely outclasses it if you can aim well.

Also Stardust Dragon and Terraprisma make the stardust cell staff look pathetic

  11. If you are willing to get even riskier with your ML assault, you can utterly obliterate both the Nebula Blaze and the Nebula Arcanum in DPS/Clear Time by using a combo of Razorpine and Betsy's Wrath. The Betsy's Curse debuff lasts 10 seconds and reduces the ML's Hands to 0 Defense, the Head to 10 Defense, and the Heart to 30 Defense.

  12. Fun fact: the daybreak and phantasm are the only pillar weapons to not have their respective pillar fragment type at the start of their name

i e: solar eruption, nebula arcanum, stardust dragon staff

  13. The reason why the nebula arcanum struggles with moonlord is because when the eye’s close the projectile stops homing in so what you want to do is attack the eyes with the nebula blaze then switch to the arcanum afterwards for the heart.

  14. I really have to say that you are single favorite creator on the platform. You are the only one I know that keeps me coming back every single time. Seriously I dont think ive missed an upload since i subscribed. Thank you for the consistently high quality and entertaining content ❤

  15. One thing I do against the Moon Lord (Which I think more people should do!)

Fly into the air and shoot Arcanum’s straight down at the ground. They’ll start moving slower, but come back up at you. Count how long it takes for the Moon Lord to spawn, have a stream of projectiles floating upwards. The Moon Lord spawns with its eyes open, and if you simply move down as he spawns, his top eye will be hit with each Arcanum projectile and immediately be reduced to a small amount of health or be destroyed outright (Depending on difficulty!) within like, 3~ seconds.

It’s just a random thing I do, but it’s easy and helps getting rid of the laser quick!
