Has Terraria 1.4.4 changed this weapon forever?

But Terraria 1.4.4 update has well and truly shaken up the whole in-game meta with nearly every weapon receiving either a buff Nerf or in some instances a complete rework notably a handful of some of the most iconic terrari weapons have been completely overhauled such as the Terra Blade and the knight’s Edge

Today we’re going to be taking a look at another iconic terrari weapon that’s in a complete rework the Horseman’s blade for some this may have been your favorite weapon in the game and I can see why however listen up as I found its functionality to be drastically

Different after this update let’s take a look on the most part the way you obtain the Horseman’s blade is pretty much the same being a drop from the pumpkin however the structuring of the Pumpkin Moon event has seen some adjustment the event itself is summoned with the Pumpkin Moon Medallion which can be

Crafted with 30 pumpkins found around your world during Halloween or planted using seeds bought from the dryad you also need 5 ectoplasm which is dropped from dungeon Spirits found in your postponterra dungeon and Final only 10 Hallowed Bars dropped from any of the three Mech bosses with this you can

Craft a medallion at an anvil and get the event underway assuming that it’s past 7 30 PM as mentioned the event’s structure has changed slightly it can now go up to wave 20 like the frost Moon and now pumpkins only start spawning after wave 10 instead of wave 7. this

Obviously makes obtaining the Horseman’s blade a little more difficult so I’d recommend setting up a trap Arena to help you bullet through the first dozen waves and then head out with a weapon like the Terra Blade as this thing is simply fantastic at crowd control now having a massive projectile when the

Pumpkins starts spawning make sure to put all your attention on killing them is the quantity that spawn have also been decreased in this update with a Max drop rate of 14.29 hopefully you’ll be able to have one drop pretty quickly so then let’s take a look at the wooden

Performance now starting with the Buffs the weapons bass damage has been straight up doubled from 75 to 150. Additionally the blade now has an area of damaging energy surrounding it which deals damage in a much larger AOE now this all sounds incredible but of course there is a catch as doubling its damage

Needs to be compensated for the pumpkin projectiles now deal 100 of the base damage instead of 150 although this is lower the initial damage buff still makes these slightly more damaging but now onto the killer the pumpkins will no longer be generated from statues spawned enemies which I don’t know about you was

My main utilization of this weapon I completely understand why re-logic made this change as it was extremely busted and meant you could beat pretty much anything in the game Stood Still in a box but it still had to mean the soul to see this removed the question is with

This functionality removed and the Damage buff what kind of functionality can we get out this weapon now well to be honest it’s still a very strong sword and is still absolutely one of the best weapons for events however its boss performance has completely gone down the drain now being pretty much like any

True mellow weapon when it comes to single targets even with its increased size getting close to a boss like Duke fishron without being damaged it’s very difficult and despite its great event performance and still safe for mini bosses like pumpkins and ice creams you’ll really need a secondary weapon to

Deal with them as I just don’t think the Horseman’s played on its own will could it anymore I think that if you’re looking for a melee weapon to help you with events like the frost moon or solar eclipse it’s definitely worth getting but if you’re gonna miss them out and go

Straight to the cultist fight you’re probably better off crafting something else like the Terra blood what are your thoughts on these changes do you prefer the functionality of this weapon now or miss the good old days of cheesing thanks for watching for more Terraria content like this drop a like And

  1. I've always strongly disliked "cheesing" stuff in any games, especially a game like this that is so masterfully crafted in every single way. I don't use any of these "cheesing" methods so this doesn't bother me at all and it makes sense to change the weapon in this way. I personally don't see any point in using these cheap strategies to cheat your way through the game, it simply takes away the fun and makes the game infinitely more boring. As a test to see if it can be done, yeah sure, but actually utilising these tactics? I don't get it.

  2. Building an optimal mob generation system with statues, which was adapted to the building resources you had, and the attack speed that your choice of accessories and prefixes gave, was a rewarding experience that produced marvels of engineering. If you took the fun out of it for yourself by copying everything someone else (like Mappy, for example) did precisely, instead of just understanding the core concepts and planning your own designs, I could see how it might be boring, but what they did to our pumpkin sword was dirty. That was the engineer's weapon, the sword to the Grand Design's shield. The smoothies in the comments complaining about cheese must not have ever tasted good cheese…

I did a 100 HP Master mode run and a solo 12P Master daytime EoL fight without dodge gear back before 1.4.4. I know how fun it can be to play the game "without cheese". The thing is, building is a core part of Terraria, and people who want to fight by building have a playstyle that's just as valid as any. The appeal of Terraria includes how varied the ways it can be played are. The Horseman's Blade was an inspiring component of the wire guru's toolkit. It wasn't worth removing (perhaps I should say "removing again"; pretty sure they took the functionality out before, and people complained until it was put back in, so I see no reason we can't just do that again).

  3. Why did they have to remove the statue farming exploit..
I mean, it's the player's choice, or more so WAS, as they don't have to play the game that way…
This is why mods exist, I guess.

  4. I dunno, I don't care for the change, it kinda feels like a later excalibur which is just fine, it's a fine sword but for being pumpking drop is just slightly disappointing.

  5. when i farmed for my zenith, the horseman's blade took about 10 runs to get, but i eventually got one, and it had legendary and i didn't want to farm another one because it would take forever so i got my zenith and then got like 10 horseman's blade's
