Terraria: The ULTIMATE Guide to Luck (1.4.4)

In Terraria you have a lot of ways to boost your odds of getting good loot Critical Hits and more but there is one way you probably didn’t know about since Terraria doesn’t say anything about it in game which is the luck stat like its name suggests this stat is purely just

To decide how good your luck is which can affect almost everything in the game that’s why in this video I’ll be going over everything you need to know about luck in Terraria to start let’s quickly cover everything luck can affect in Terraria this special stat can increase

The damage you deal rare enemy and Critter spawns your fishing power the traveling Merchant and finally coin portals while it can be super helpful it can also be hurtful by decreasing everything I went over instead of increasing it if your luck is in the negatives your luck stat can be a number

Between 1.4 at the highest and negative 0.4 at the lowest now like I mentioned earlier earlier the game won’t tell you anything about the Luck stats straight up however by talking to the wizard you can use his responses to figure out a rough guess of your luck stat so how do

You actually increase your luck there are a good number of ways that you can do this starting with the Galaxy Pearl which will permanently increase your luck by 0.3 you can get a Galaxy Pearl by throwing a pink pearl into a pool of Shimmer where it will then pop back out

As a Galaxy Pearl next we have the Lesser and greater luck potions and just the regular luck potion the amount of luck it increases is dependent on how much time you have left on the potions buff with the highest being when there is more than 5 minutes left which gives

You plus 0.3 to your luck after the potions the next easiest way to boost your lock stat would be the lantern Knight event which will give you plus 0.3 to your luck stat because you can only access this event a limited number of times per world I recommend saving

Any anything you want to do that that luck could help you out in until you know you will be experiencing this event the last super easy way to increase your luck has to do with garden gnomes that will give you plus 0.2 luck when you are

In a 170 by 125 block range of one sadly though as easy as The Gnome option is the luck buff will only count once regardless of the amount of gnomes placed near you now that we’ve covered all of the short and simple ways to increase your luck let’s move on to the

Final ways surprisingly one of the biggest factors of luck in Terraria has to do with how you use ladybugs if you decide to simply just walk by and touch a ladybug then your luck will increase by 0.2 if it’s a normal ladybug or 0.4 if it’s a gold

Ladybug this luck effect will slowly start decreasing the specific amount of luck it gives you until it reaches zero for a period of 12 or 24 minutes depending on the ladybug you touch while touching a ladybug can help you out if you kill one then it can hurt your luck

Instead if you kill a regular ladybug or use it as fishing bait it will decrease your luck by negative 0.2 that will last for 3 minutes and if it’s a gold one it will double to negative 0.4 for 6 minutes now oddly enough while technically not a ladybug killing the

Guide will give you plus 0.067 ladybug luck that will decrease to zero over a period of four minutes what’s even hotter than that though is the fact that killing any other NPC will give you negative 0.067 ladybug luck that will increase to zero over a period

Of one minute if you’re curious for a more in-depth summary of how ladybug luck works I left a link for the wiki in the description which gets all of the small details regarding luck and ladybugs next let’s look at easily the most expensive option to increase your

Luck which is Shimmer coins just like the name suggests this method involves you throwing your hard-earned money into Shimmer but in return you get arguably the best luck boost in the game 2 . to understand how this works we first need to understand the four coins luck

Counter this is a number that each coin has and is used to determine how much luck you will get with copper coins only having a luck counter of one and platinum coins having a luck counter of 1 million this coin lock counter will start decreasing and about roughly 30

Percent per minute and completely stop if your luck hits 0.25 the luck counter will cap out at 1 million which means throwing a single platinum coin will cap it out but at the same time you can achieve the same thing with copper coins but it will take a million of them once

You throw the amount of coins that you want into Shimmer you can use this chart to see how much luck you will get and how long it will last with the best option being Plus 0.175 for 6 minutes and finally the last thing that can affect your luck is the

Type of torches you have placed each biome in Terraria has its own specific torch and play facing or holding the torch type of the biome you’re in will give you plus 0.2 luck for the time you’re near the torch at the same time though placing a torch outside of its

Specific biome will decrease your luck by 0.2 unless it’s these two torches which don’t bring your luck down at all while most of the Torches follow that logic two of them have different rules to go along with them first off the regular torch will not give you any luck

But will decrease your luck up to 0.3 depending on the biome you place it in so it’s best to stay away from them and finally the bone torches are what you should use in the underground biomes with it giving you plus 0.1 luck when placed anywhere outside of the surface

Biomes and does not have negative luck effects when placed in those biomes now the easiest way to deal with your torch luck is to not think of it at all by using the torch God effect which automatically changes any torch placed to its correct biome version this permanent effect can be obtained by

Placing 101 torch is in a single area and surviving while you wait for them to all burn out while shooting fire at you that wraps up everything you need to know about luck in Terraria if you made it this far into the video be sure to

Let me know by commenting Shimmer in the comments thanks for sticking to the end and as always make sure to have a wonderful day

In Terraria, most of everything that has any importance is talked about a lot in game, but not yout luck stat. 1. This Torch shit is still ingame? I thought they removed that. Its sad because Diamond torches are the best light source but you shouldnt craft or use them because of luck. its so dumb

  2. Wasn't the negative luck from torches removed? It was so negatively received that only positive torch luck is a thing, not negative torch luck.

  3. There is a theory that the guide is actually the wall of flesh disguised and these videos never talked about the luck you get for killing him so I feel like that will just add to that theory.
