Minecrafts Last COMPLETE Update.

The past few years Minecraft and this yearly updates have been shrouded in controversy from caves and cliffs being split up into three different delayed updates players believing they were over promised on updates like 1.19 and then more complaints surrounding the newer and more lackluster updates like 1.20

It’s undeniable that there has been a rift in trust between Mojang and his players that being said though the Minecraft player base can almost unanimously ly agree that 1.16 the nether update was as perfect as it gets there was no drama no controversy and no issues what happened 1.16 the nether

Update released in mid 2020 at the time the nether was one of the three features players wanted to receive an update the most just behind a cave update and just above an end update if gone wrong moang could have faced some serious backlash just as they did with the over promised

Caves and cliffs update which was split into three different versions but not only did they not overpromise and then underd deliver but they damn well hit 1.16 out the park the best way to illustrate that is through ancient debris and netherite ever since Minecraft had a survival mode diamonds

Have been iconic considered the creme Dill creme the epitome of Minecraft tools and gear we all remember that first time we found diamonds and the immense excitement brought with it diamonds had become an extremely nostalgic and cherished item in Minecraft people were concerned that upon the announcement of a new high

Level material above Diamond that diamonds would become useless or lose their Allure but Mojang handled it perfectly by keeping diamonds useful and requiring Diamond gear before upgrading to netherite which the community thought was a very well-designed concept and Not only was it welld designed in that it didn’t default diamonds to being useless

But ancient debris was also implemented very well when I first updated my world to 1.16 I remember going to the nether flying flying to new chunks and creating a huge line of TNT to blow up Netherrack and reveal ancient debris upon doing so and going through the remaining Ruins In

Search of debris it somewhat reminded me of the first few times I entered a deep Cave In Search Of Diamonds the entire process of getting ancient debris was fun and well thought out the new biomes added in 1.16 also provided a more Visual and environmental update to the

Nether the Crimson Forest and warped Forest gave the nether a more alien-like alive fil with their distinct colors fitting the Nethers theme perfectly Basalt delts a more Rocky and Volcanic likee terrain really kept in tune with the ne’s desolate and dangerous Vibe and Soul Sand valleys with fossils really

Felt like a huge graveyard hosting the remains of mobs also fitting the theme of the nether perfectly the reason these four biomes work so well was also because they were notably distinct for example remember the Wild update Minecraft 1.19 whereby the mangrove swamps were added a major complaint

Players had was that the biome and overall update didn’t live up to its name that’s because mangroves weren’t really that interesting they looked too similar to the swamp and weren’t that common to encounter so you can imagine new players eager to hop into the wild update and expecting the world around

Them to be more wild only to find it identical and underwhelming would be left disappointed what made 1.6s new biome so great is that immediately upon stepping into The Nether it really would feel entirely new the additional biomes were present and in your face as soon as you entered the nether you were

Surrounded by them and they were awesome it actually made the nether feel entirely different which was assisted by the great Ambiance also added with them let’s talk about the mobs of course we got the hoglands finally adding a proper source of food which can be obtained in the nether but more importantly piglins

Mojang has a habit of adding let’s just say rather useless mobs that look cool but then are almost entirely forgotten about 1 week after a new update 1. 120’s camels are a great example they are just a worst version of the horse a mob which players already didn’t really use much

At all but the mobs added in the nether update particularly the piglins not only were cool mobs to fight and encounter but had mechanics that made them useful Beyond just being killed bartering or trading rather than kill them you could wear golden armor and throw them gold to

Trade with them an entirely unique mechanic to the game and the trades were actually useful rather than just being a gimmick I remember being particularly excited that you could actually get Quartz from trades with them as up to that point there was no way to farm Quartz in MineCraft it’s pretty clear

Which mobs you should kill and which you shouldn’t they normally serve a very linear purpose but piglins could be threatening while also being neutral with their bartering making them an actually interesting and useful mob two characteristics many of the newer mobs add to the game fail to be the Strider

While not exactly useful either was very different from other mobs in the game at the time and added to the ne’s New Alive and alien Vibe bastions were also a cool structure which once again not only contained useful loot as well as Unique Mechanics like a Magma Cube spawner but

In general were a relatively challenging structure to visit especially with the addition of piglin brutes in 1.6.2 and of course we can’t forget the dozens of new blocks added all of which were very nice and useful but I think you get the point okay so 1.16 had lots

Of new and useful features but so did updates like 1.18 and even 1.19 so why did they receive so much controversy but 1.16 didn’t well that’s because the players at the time were all subscribed to the Mr Epic something many of you still need to do no pressure anyways to

Understand that we need to look at the updates after 1.16 and why they had issues the caves and cliffs update was controversial as Mojang were overconfident and unfortunately over promised technically we were meant to get 1.17 1.18 and half of 1.19 all in the same update that being caves and

Cliffs but Mojang didn’t realize the scope of what they had promised and had to delay features like World Generation changes and ancient cities to 1.18 and 1.19 or in archaeology’s case delayed even further to 1.20 an almost 3year Delay from its original announcement 1.19 had a similar issue players were

Expecting more from The Wild update like the initially planned revamped Birch forest and fireflies fireflies were cut from the update for quite literally the stupidest reason this is a game remember how this made sense to Mojang is still Beyond me and updated Birch Forest were delayed and still have yet to be added

To the game going on 2 years now 1.17 and later updates all tended to overpromise on the features they would add a good chunk of which Mojang could not deliver on but 1.16 was not like this at all with 1.16 we got exactly what was promised exactly what was

Showcased at Minecon live and even more 1.16 did not overpromise it under promised if anything and thus left players satisfied and excited that everything they could expect from 1.16 and more would be available to play on update day for every Minecraft update released since 1.16 I can easily recall

Off the top of my head some sort of drama associated with it but for 1.16 I can’t I think the biggest controversy I can remember is people being upset that C418 didn’t make the music for the update but most quickly grew accustomed and even a liking to lenar rain

Soundtracks in addition 1.16 was so well received because it didn’t really break any pre-existing game mechanics or add things people disliked for example 1.19 eventually added chat reporting which many people disliked and believed to be overbearing 1.16 didn’t do any of this in fact one game mechanic many people

Myself included were hoping wouldn’t be altered was the bug somewhat turned feature whereby Pigmen who were aggate players still dropped XP when killed by the environment this was something that even Mojang devs mentioned was going to be patched eventually and players thought 1.16 would be the time to do it

But they didn’t meaning our gold Farms above the nether roof still work no issue 1.6 was an update which was almost exclusively adory and that was perfect 1.16 also had something newer updates intentionally don’t have at least not publicly and that is a sense of direction when 1.16 was announced it was

Called the nether update and it was obvious from early showcases what it was meant to be players expectations were forced grounded as well as clear however after issues with over promising occurring in later updates now Minecraft updates are not publicly named until long after their first announcement with

Only a handful of features showcased in advance while Mojang’s reasoning for this is sound due to not wanting to have any drama surrounding updates again it also makes these updates feel directionless and a bit disconnected due to them lacking a more central theme take 1.20 the trails and tals update in

This update we got the new Cherry B biome and trees very cool we got archaeology finally and pottery features we got smithing templates and then we got the camel and the sniffer as the mobs all these features feel disconnected from one another and as if they were smaller features of other

Updates all brought together for some reason now none of these features are necessarily bad additions but it makes it hard for players to get excited when they load up their game in eager anticipation of a new updates content only to see things are basically identical and the newer content won’t be

Interacted with or present to them as often the updates feel disjointed and random and particularly underwhelming 1.16 was exactly the opposite of that as we discussed the update Direction was clear the new content was immediately visible and evident when you first opened the game and began playing and it

Wasn’t disjointed content you would only occasionally interact with in differing parts of the world it was easy to get hyped about the nether update because well it’s a big overhaul to the nether it’s hard to get hyped about an unamed Minecraft update with a bunch of cool but mostly minor and seemingly side

Features that don’t really connect with each other at all this is an issue which Minecraft is continuing to face as well an unfortunate byproduct of their potentially diminished confidence after past update dramas now 1.16 wasn’t perfect if there was one valid criticism of this update it’s that Nether

Fortresses didn’t really change much at all that being said nowhere was it promised that a nether fortress update would be included in 1.16 nor was it hinted at or shown in a preview what we saw with 1.16 is what we got there was little room for disappointment and I

Think that summarizes 1.16 well I hope you all enjoyed this video be sure to subscribe thank you all so much for watching

The past few years, minecrafts yearly updates have been riddled with controversy and drama. But 1.16, the nether update was the complete opposite, the last uncontroversial minecraft update…

  1. What worries me is that even if we somehow get a good End update, there's basically zero subsequent updates they could do that would compare.

Except combat or inventory management, assuming they can actually do it well.

  2. One thing a lot of people seem to forget is that, during the minecon live that happened before 1.19, when Agnes was talking about features they were working on for 1.19, she also mentioned how they were going to focus on "Biome Diversity", basically meaning making the biomes in the game feel more unique amongst each other. This never happened of course, and our "wild" update only consisted of a whopping TWO whole biomes.

  3. A delayed update is better than a buggy one, if people keep getting mad at delays they will release buggy updates, people are mad when updates are delayed and when they realise buggy, so because of that people set an unrealistic expectation an gaming company's, so stop getting mad at delays and only get mad at buggy realises, and only buy a game that realised buggy when it's fixed that way executives will allow delays if something is not ready instead of pushing for an early release, edit: someone pretended to be themisterepic and invited me to a discussion on insta, don't trust such things

  4. I think 1.19 is the only real offending update, people forget 1.17 and 1.18 were split because of COVID, and the new caves we eventually got was a bit like the nether update, with changes being very obvious. I liked 1.20 because I think a “everything” sort of update was needed. 1.19 was definitely the only terrible update here

  5. I feel like the reason 1.20 is so unnoticeable is not only because its features are separated, but also because litterally everything is purely decorational. Cherry biome adds new wood and nothing else, decorated pots are pretty useless, even when 1.21 releses and we will be able to put items into it, it'll esentially be a new way of hiding items in dungeons, not too game changing, hanging signs are decoratonal, camel is only decorational, as it's just a worse version of an already pretty useless mob, sniffer is only useful to get new plants, that have no uses, smithing templates are a nice addition, but again, only visual, bamboo wood is just an easier way of making wood farms. The only new and nice to a casual player feature is archeology, it's pretty climatic, but does not really have a use. The most useful things from this update are calibrated sculc sensors, which are only appealing to highly technical community. If you were to start a new survival 1.20 world and list all features from 1.19 and 1.20 you encountered, i bet the list after 3h of playing would still be empty.

  6. Early full release minecraft updates had half of the community disappointed, and the other half hyped out of their mind. Now nobody honestly cares about it, because there isn't really anything new unless you're actively searching for it.

  7. id like to point out that mojang is still trying to recover from the scope of the caves and cliffs update. 1.20 had a focus on archaeology and 1.21 has a focus on adding more uses to tuff and copper. and bundles have been just sitting around on the backburner for 4 years and ongoing which is upsetting because it helped with inventory management

  8. 5:56 how much NERVE do you need to WEAR AN LGBT SHIRT, AN ORGANIZATION THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR GAME while disrespectfully BREAKING YOUR PROMISES and trying to ruin the whole purpose of the game you were SPECIFICALLY ASSIGNED TO UPDATE?
I thought bugrock edition pushing "bE yOuRsElF" propaganda on innocent children was already enough proof that Minecraft is in bad hands, but holy shiet

  9. (this might be coping but i hope i’m right) my theory is that with the 15th anniversary we’ll get something big… probably a really good end update. think about 1.15 it was a smaller update and no one was really mad about that because they were working on 1.16 so maybe these past few lackluster updates have been just giving the devs more time to work on something big that they just can’t tell us about yet

  10. i feel like the issue is that theyre too afraid to add anything "game-changing". new stuff is almost always limited to one biome unlike old updates – you can encounter creepers, skeletons, cows, pigs… etc. basically everywhere. Camels, cherry groove biome and so on are VERY limited so its very likely you wont see any of these if you dont travel out far enough

  11. feels like mojang stopped listening to its players and just go to they're own ways , before 1.16 update came out mojang listened to players suggestions and now it's just complete random

  12. I can never get over the fact that the best selling game of all time's developers can make like 4 features that are all lackluster in the time that one modder can make 10 incredible ones

  13. To be honest, what makes me not like modern so much is not how much it has changed from old MC, but how much potential they are wasting by trying to make the game feel the same but failing at it, so it would be better if they just outright did what they wanted and didnt look behind, a good example is 1.16, it feels so different compared to everything before it, but while gameplay wise it builds upon very old mechanics from the game, its not afraid to outright throw things out of the window, it would be better from Mojang to just make the game different for once rather than mistaking old MC's simplicity for lack of depth like in 1.20

  14. The entire world of the Nether had nothing in it, so adding 4 biomes, a structure and a few mobs is going to have more of an impact on the game than doing the same thing in the Overworld. If Mojang did an End update and only added 1 biome, a building, & a new mob, I have no doubt some people would proclaim it to be the greatest update ever.

I don't understand why people ignore the impact the pandemic had on Caves & Cliffs and The Wild Update, which I personally view as one update spread-out over a couple of years. Anyone who thinks that the Overworld doesn't look different now compared to before C&C probably doesn't have good long term memory and has forgotten how boring caves used to be & how generic the Overworld looked.

  15. "DOG ARMOR" "DOG ARMOR" "DOG ARMOR"

I remember when THIS was toted as being "THE most wanted feature". Yet, with a video like THIS you expect the "countless droves" of dog armor supporters blasting you with, "BUT IN LATEST UPDATE WE GOT DOG ARMOR!" Praising that as "THE golden acquisition". I mean, it CERTAINLY was paraded about as being "THE most requested for YEARS"…. Yet, cant help but notice, NO ONE is talking about it. I sifted through the comments HERE, expecting these kids to show up in the "countless droves" they glorified as being "THE majority of the playerbase", only turned over 1 of 800 (total comments at the time) in the comments within the first 12hours of video being posted…

Where are they?? WHY aren't they talking about "how GUD dog armor iz". And no, you infants replying to me with YOUR personal niche story about how YOU would use dog armor, are NOT valid in this regard (I repeat, IN THIS REGARD). You would have to say something BEFORE a message like this antagonizes you to respond. And looking at Trends data seems to reflect this, as only a TOP of ~100 people searched about "minecraft dog armor" back in Oct. 2023 (this was it PEAK). It now rests below 30 (on average), as it had BEFORE dog armor was announced.

Just as well, according to the FIRST result for "minecraft user count" in google search returned; "According to activeplayer.io, more than 191 million people played Minecraft in the last 30 days." (Aakrit Sharma Published: Jan 02, 2024, 04:44 ❘ Updated: Jan 02, 2024, 04:44 https://www.charlieintel.com/minecraft/how-many-people-play-minecraft-2022-player-count-195437/).
However, im going to use the more conservative estimate of 141 million users (literally changes nothing, but a very minute variance): Of those 141 million (~active) users, only 0.000070922% have searched for "minecraft dog armor", around the time of announcement. Even further skewing to allow general "dog armor" searched turns over the SAME peak of ~100 users, around the time of announcement, searching for "dog armor" on google. STILL, 0.000070922% (rather 0.0000886525, given both searches, and consider a healthy 1.25x overlap). Even with the MORE conservative factor of saying both searches are "SEPARATE", so fine, a MAX of 0.000141844% of the TOTAL Minecraft playerbase, are searching for Minecraft Dog Armor. EVEN saying "oh, well only HALF are actually active". Fine, 200 of 70 million is STILL only 0.000285714%.
*EDIT* Roommate mentioned, "Maybe some players use DuckDuckGo as their search engine". Okay, let us DOUBLE it again, 0.000571428%. STILL does not change this ratio.

Given all that, it certainly seems the players whom stated these things; "THE most wanted feature", "THE golden acquisition", "THE most requested for YEARS", "THE majority of the playerbase", are most assuredly NOT the majority. Dog armor is definitely NOT most wanted NOR golden aquisition. The ONLY thing I believe is true of this is, it is definitely ONE of THE most requested features (but not THE absolute most requested), especially when Mapmakers, Redstoners, and CommandBlock Coders have been requesting features JUST AS MUCH, if not MORE than the "dog armor requests".
Given THE best factor of 0.000571428% really answers WHY they aint talking about, because there are barely any of them to begin with. And SURELY search results would reflect their INTEREST in this topic, no? SURELY Youtubers would be talking about "THE most requested feature" and milking the SHET out of it, since they are "THE majority of the playerbase" this would be an EASY algorithm manip., no?

TLDR; Took an hour to write, takes three minutes to read, laziness is not an excuse. And IF you are going to attack me, quote my words EXACTLY and expand on what you mean. Trashing people for speaking the truth will NEVER silence it. ONCE word gets out, it spreads. And it is SAD to see people mindlessly attack others without presenting ANYTHING factual themselves. If I AM wrong, quote my EXACT words with proper quotations (including "…" for parts you cut out, as well as "[ ]" for parts you ADDED or CHANGED. Tired of troglodytes misquoting, just to twist into their infantile narrative). Also, note that "random caps" is not "yelling", that is for EMPHASIS, because Youtube doesnt show *boldface* as easily, and MOST people gloss over boldface words anyways, never realizing EMPHASIS was provided to said boldface word (Note: My "EDIT" text INCLUDES boldface WITH additional asterisks to bring more attention to the edit). CAPS = EMPHASIS here. QUOTES = PROOF (use it, just not the twisted delusional manner some do).

  16. It annoys the absolute hellout of me because there are modders out there who have down cave generation overhauls and biome overhauls completely on their own and then update the mods within days of an official update yet Mojang takes literally years to do this shit

  17. I consider 1.13-1.16 to be the era in which Minecraft content updates peaked.
1.13 was a huge resurgence of the game and an absolutely massive bundle of both functional, aesthetic and game-changing new features, ones that were around one of the most boring and barren parts of the Minecraft world.
1.14, my personal most favorite update in the history Minecraft, was a major, well-integrated and worthwhile overhaul to one of the game's most important parts, and it also added some of the coolest mobs to the game, Pillagers and Ravagers (Man I love the Illager gang so much, it's really fun to have ''anti-villagers'' in the game). They are awesome, so are the raids and so are the crossbows! These aren't the reason it's my favorite update of all time though, the fact that it did so much to tweak parts of the game and make it a better, more polished overall experience, such as the incredible amount of pleasing texture reworks and the rest, is why I consider it to be the game's best.
1.15, whilst a rather underwhelming update in a vacuum, added a couple really important features (Most notably honey blocks, which were a huge revolution for Redstone) and did EVEN MORE to make the game a more pleasant experience, such as an unquantifiable amount of bugfixes. In hindsight it served like a great buffer update for what was to come. Speaking of which…
1.16, the topic of this video and for all the right reasons, is my very close second favorite Minecraft update. It is unanimously beloved for a reason honestly, just like 1.13, it took another huge barren wasteland, and completely transformed it into something that's an absolute BLAST to explore (Except to an even greater extent than the ocean update), whilst simultaneously adding great content to the game. Some people say it feels slightly modded, which, I can see where they're coming from, but I completely disagree with, because its features are so well-integrated within the game that it feels impeccable. It has that overall Minecraft quality to it, where every single new object has a specific sound effect and neat gimmick that doesn't feel out of place or in your face and multiple usage case of its own (Something that is unfortunately kind of missing in the most recent updates, everything seems to have a single use and that's it).
Overall… Spectacular update, Mojang almost kept it going with the 1.17 announcements, but I feel like they really dropped the ball in its production and that's what marks the beginning of rather janky and ''troubled production'' Minecraft updates in my opinion.

  18. tbh i think mojang should have taken more time to work on content without constantly feeding snapshots to us. that being said 1.17+1.18 should have been one update, as with 1.19+1.20
