For a while now I’ve had this particular ter weapon on my radar but not for the reasons you’d probably expect you see today we’re going to be taking a look at an extremely unspectacular weapon to try and make sense of who it’s aimed at what

It can be used for and why it’s even in the game full stop yep I’m talking about the beam sword now for many of you this might be your first time hearing of this weapon as it is so incredibly average and boring you won’t even realize you’ve

Let us begin now first up like so many other mellow weapons it finds itself obtainable straight after the wall of flesh putting it in the Prem boss progression pool and let me just say even if this was one of the best weapons in the game which spoiler it is you need

To seriously debate going for it at all as this tends to be the epitome of a drop you get loads when you aren’t looking for it and none when you actually are either way though as you’d guess by now you’re going to want to be in your underground as on the lookout

For armored skeletons now this doesn’t necessarily need to be in your hood but as I already had a serious farm setup it was the most ideal and if you yourself plan to make a row Farm like this just ensure you have large enough gaps between lanes just in case you want to

And you know what this might be the most painful weapon farming experience I’ve ever had even beating the fabled Medusa head from years ago all I can say is though if you are for some reason farming for this thing make sure to get your look stack as high as possible as

This will decrease that horrendous Bas drop rate okay then after genuinely hours I finally got my beam saw to drop oh just so you do know I’m a PO has a 2% drop rate and look how many of them damn things I got anyway with my brain still

Slightly intact let’s see just how not worth it this thing was the beam sword is well quite boring to say the least with it functioning basically like a hard modood Enchanted sord swinging for a mid 52 base damage and occasion L firing a gold sword beam projectile but

Deals the same damage now as you can see both together at the same time can result in quite an acceptable DPS but it’s very unlikely you’ll find yourself in this scenario the only real leg up the beam sword has from the off is how it does beat the blade tongue on single

Target damage but that’s really where the wind sto for this weapon is the frost brand another early hard mode sword that’s a million times easy to obtain basically matches it while also inflicting frostbite and having projectile piercing ouch and of course we can’t be forgetting about the staple

That is the shadow flame knife which almost deals the same DPS as the beam sord up close whilst having a ton more range and the worst part is the beam saw doesn’t really benefit from the multi-target test either whereas the as for mentioned blade tongue comes back in

Style and takes back the only win the beam sword had already oh and I almost forgot a beautiful weapon called the D crippler does exist and if I’m honest wouldn’t have taken half the time to obtain and deals about a billion times more damage but who knows maybe the beam

Sword has something crazy up its sleeve against the real thing and well while it may have a lot of knockback no and out of all the weapons shown today it’s definitely the weakest link against this group of mummies and don’t even get me started on its single Target performance

Despite having no multi-target strengths it also takes down these bio mimics at astonishingly slow speed with the shin of flame knife absolutely blowing it out the water from a damage and usability point of view so at this point let’s say that you hadn’t sold your soul to obtain

This thing and just happen to bump into it while down there will it help you with any bosses well in fortunately I think you already know the answer to that one with its no piercing instantly making it a nogo against a destroyer and with its infrequent projectile being the

Only viable source of damage for the other Mech bosses I honestly think that you’d run out of time so please just use the shadowflame knife instead as it’ll actually make the mech fights doable without having to spend all day at this point I’m going to show you the real

Tragedy of this weapon you see even against a light event like a Blood Moon I found its performance so mid I genuinely think that the Break Blade is a much better option like just by experiencing a higher damaging a larger bladed weapon I found the beam sword beam to be pretty insignificant in

Comparison and concludes for me that the beam sword truly doesn’t have a use for when it’s obtained I don’t know guys that’s the beam sword my hatred might be a little biased due to how painful it was to obtain but even if it had a 100%

Drop rate I’m not sure many people would actually use it as it starts just fall short of many other early hard mod Mele Alternatives this has been soes and I’ll see you in the next one

It’s not often I come across a weapon I hate on this channel… but today is a serious exception, with the extremely difficult to obtain- and incredibly weak Beam Sword. Man, where do I even start with this thing? Apart from it offering early Hardmode melee players a source of very low long distance damage, I genuinely think you’d be better using the Breaker Blade dropped from the Wall of Flesh… Yeah. Enjoy!
