Locking Doors? | Terraria 1.4.4
Sometimes you just need to lock a door my friend bad scientist showed me a fun way to do this and today I’m passing that knowledge onto you grab two doors a platform and some Echo coating place one door then place the other door two blocks away place a platform outside of
The exterior door open this door away from the other door to unlock it but if you open this door towards the other door the platform and this door prevent it from opening as it has nowhere to go so now it’s locked if both doors are closed you can walk in but you
Can’t walk out Echo cook the platform and the second door it can be great for keeping NPCs in keeping zombies out or pranking your friends

I usually just dirt/stone block to each side of it and then rod of discord out.
ever heard of a dirtblock?
i know a simpler version, place a block of any kind of the outside of the door, then place a actuator on it, place a switch anywhere in the build if your happy where it is, the hook it up with wires, now you have a toggleable lock
you can also use banners

I prank my friends by reconnecting our teleporters to a dynamite chamber
i usually have an actuator block, most of my doors are not flat with the exterior, so when i want the door to be open i just flip a switch and the door is locked. however this is not "early" game indeed.

Me: Places a dirt block in front of the door
Better yet, put actuators in your beams and wire it to day and night sensors. The doors lock at night and unlock day.

No more dying to dumbfck npcs opening doors in goblin army invasion
if im locking a door, i usually keep it locked, because i find it funny and because my friends go ballistic when expert mode zombies are running them down on the first night & im the only one inside the house 🙂

Just just put some actuated blocks on a switch to block the door
This is the perfect item to keep the npc trapped so that they don't goddamn open the door in a bloodmoon
I discovered this trick many years ago. Also prevent the inside door from being opened the wrong way and you can lock it from the outside without having to face away from the door.
