Welcome to my Stardew Valley year 1 community center challenge run/full content/maximimum efficiency playthrough!

It’s a neurotic, metagamed, optimized-past-the-point-of-fun run of Stardew Valley. Sure it’s possible to catch all fish, or complete the monster eradications, or max friendship, or any number of gimmicks in year 1—but I’m making my absolute best attempt to do them ALL. The fact that it’s sort of actually POSSIBLE, just barely, shows that ConcernedApe did a very careful job balancing this game for players like me.

This is also a bit of a celebration video. 10,000 subscribers, and my first video more than a WHOLE HUMAN HOUR in duration. Goodness. Please enjoy responsibly.

You know, I’m not so good at souls games that playing them isn’t stressful. So I was thinking, a) souls content will dry up eventually and b) hey Stardew Valley, that will be less stressful to play. I hadn’t yet calculated that to play a year of Stardew is 14 minutes of playtime * 28 days * 4 seasons, plus all the time I spend with my inventory open “paused” so I can look things up and triple check I’m holding all the items I expect to need that day.

I want to shout out Fujiiro on steam whose written guide is very similar in spirit to my run. While I did all my planning alone first, this guide is very well written and I was able to use it as a cross reference.

  1. Love to see you branching out your genres, happy to see where you are going with this. But I still really would like to see the mammoth project that is Elden Ring as Intended!

  2. I feel very seen by this video…I have used spreadsheets to plan my farms. I’m so glad I found your content. I really enjoy your jokes. You’ve been making great videos and it’s nice to see your approach to a different genre.

  3. Just finished this. This is your best video and I’ve never even played the game. I hope this gets the attention it deserves even though it’s not souls. Hope you’re well.

  4. Super glad to see some other genres on your channel.

Dont worry about the numbers the video will spread out to folks that are into stardew eventually im sure. (ykwim, getting the peeps with the algorithm) 👍

  5. Great vid as always love your stuff man keep up the great work! Also ifk if you like terraria but I feel like that game could work good with this kind of format. You could like choose a class and the go through the game have the most optimal gear for each boss and try to get the npcs as soon as possible or something idk just a thought. Thanks for reading!

  6. This is super high quality! The cheesy song references, the in-depth processes and explanations – it's fantastic! Don't worry if the algorithm doesnt pick this up and this video doesn't do numbers like the Dark Souls ones, this is for sure just as excellent and well-researched. I'd love to see you play Fallout 3/4 or Oblivion/Skyrim as Todd Howard intended – for as "freeform and open-ended" as those games are, the devs definitely want you to play them a certain way 😛
