Yay I made it early! Also, yo Python! If this warrior series is still going by the time that 1.4.5 comes out, You should DEFINITELY get yourself the classy cane and phasesaber, as they both are getting buffed later on! The phaseblades will be able to be thrown and come back to you, doing damage on the throw and the return trip, and the classy cane lets you hit npcs to drop money!
For the Volcano's bad reforge, just throw it into the shimmer (you get the bars back and you could recraft it). You should use the Starfury with the Volcano (and future Night's Edge) while exploring or while fighting a boss, that way if an enemy is far away you don't need to constantly get close to it, I even use it against the Wall of Flesh and Early Hardmode exploration (the star projectile itself deals a TON of damage).
For future Hardmode, to save yourself time, try building a bunch of horizontal tunnels below a future Plantera Arena (That way you get Life Fruit and Plantera Bulbs nearby more easily), and also remember to have a flat area on the surface to farm Giant Tortoises for Turtle Shells (they're easier to farm on the surface).

I am so happy to have found you! I’ve been playing terraria for quite awhile but started getting back into the mood and seeing someone explain everything so throughly and be really really good and really funny makes me want to always play terraria! Love watching your videos!
For early hardmode head to the cavern snow biome and farm out the following enemies: icy mermen(mind thier projectlies)ice tortices,ice elementals and armored vikings for the good old ice sicikle or you could fish up a bladetoung in the underground crimson
