    The big thing about that kiss scene is the animations. A lot of people saying "oh, other marriage candidates kiss you suddenly," but there's a big difference between the slow approach the others take in comparison to "snap, you kissed." Especially since the farmer then trembles, that would probably be most people's reactions if something so sudden happened IRL, even if the person with you is someone you have a relationship with you. I swear, if someone did that to me, even if that person was already the love of my life, I'd be uncomfortable.

    When people get mad about his ten heart cutscene they always forget that you have to ask him to be your boyfriend to have access to that cutscene. You have to actively pursue interest in him. And that Harvey has the exact same situation, but with him you don't have an option to say 'no thank you', as if that's somehow better. Like, going by that logic Harvey is more "creepy" than Elliott. Sebastin also drives you out to the middle of nowhere on his motorcycle and kisses you. The only reason those two don't get called creepy for the exact same situation is that the fandom at large likes them, while a majoity fo the fandom dislikes Elliott for being unlikable or boring in their opinion.

    The only reason people find it "creepy" when Elliott does it is because they already dislike him as a character, which is fine! You don't have to like him, he's an acquired taste, I'm sure! However, some people don't realize that you don't have to invent a reason for a character to be "problematic" as some sort of weird justfication to not like them. You don't need that, I promise. You can just be like "you know what I think he's annoying/we don't vibe well" and that can be that. I don't like Sebastin as a charcter but I don't call what he did creepy because the same logic of having to actively pursue him that I applied to Elliott applies to him as well. It doesn't just magically disappear when I don't like him.

    Sorry for the rant guys! It's really fine to not like a character, I promise. It's just that this particular bit of "critiscim" always annoys me because it's so obviously hypocritcal, in my opinion. It also annoys me because it's sad that the fandom has made people think they need justifiable reasons to dislike fictional characters. It's really odd we can't go "They just aren't my cup of tea" and be done with it. I hope everyone who took the time to read this has a good day and it's fine if you disagree with me ❤

    today is my first day playing this game and I just really really like him, idk y but he’s so sweet he’s just beside whenever I’m fishing 😅 and he’s always anti social a bit just like me😅

    Ill be honest, my original reason for going for Elliott was that i like dudes with long hair but he ended up being pretty cool in my opinion. But maybe my taste isnt the greatest because the other person i went for is Shane.

    Alright so, about the kiss being uncomfortable I think its valid, sure, other bachelors also kiss you without asking first (And thats kinda ok even with Elliot since at that point they're your boyfriends), but Elliot's is the only one where the farmer starts trembling and has the option to be "uncomfortable", I don't think "being happy" makes you start shaking like that.
    I believe if such thing hasn't happened, it wouldnt be so bad, but it happened and I dont think I like it lmao

    My ranking of the bachelors are
    6th Elliot (mainly Gus and saying being a farmer is easy)
    5th Harvey (boring charges you after marriage)
    4th Sebastian (overrated but he’s amazing)
    3rd Sam (golden retriever boy)
    2nd Shane (most in depth story)
    1st Alex

    And if you count modded npc’s Sam will probably be the only vanilla bachelor in my top 10

    Posh vocabulary might scream "Pampered Rich Boy" to you, to me it just sounds like "Awkward Bookworm", he's probably one of those people who got along with adults better than with other kids during childhood, which would explain why it seems Willy is the only villager he's kinda close with (not counting Leah cuz they are both from out of town and have that Artist Vibe to bond over)

    tbh i hate the reasons ppl hate elliot, i say this as an elliot hater, because its kinda hypocritical. the only reason i hate him is because one time i heard someone call him an erotic novelist and now i can only think of that.
