It's Christmas and the truth is that I always wanted to listen to this soundtrack on this special day, I finally fulfilled it and I take this opportunity to tell everyone happy holidays!! ❄️✨🎄✨❄️ I wish you the best!! And a Happy New Year !! 🎊🌌🎊
This music just makes me feel different. The way the the instrument combine to form this magical feel like that of a winter night after a new fallen snow as well as the depressing gray feeling during some of the later days of winter. Truly a musical master piece. I remember I was playing this game for the first time and this was the first thing I hear when I woke up the next day. It sent a wave of emotion all through my body that I can’t describe. The way the magical and the sad dull feel intertwine makes this easily my favorite song out of all of the more wonderful tracks he single handedly made. Eric it truly a one man army in all the right ways.
mostly I don't care for Stardew ost and listen to my own selected garbage tunes while playing but man, do I make an exception for winter because of this track. great stuff
To me this song perfectly makes me remember when it was winter as a Kid, when I lived in the countryside. The sense of emptiness and sadness, yet calm , relaxing and warm, as it's leading you to Christmas. Every time I go to my old town, most Stardew Valley songs are playing, and I'm feeling as a kid again. It's so incredible how music can make you travel in time in an instant.
Man I haven't even played the game and this song still is one of the greatest compositions I've encountered. Original is amazing, but its even better slowed down on piano.
Despite growing up seeing snow every winter, there's an ethereal magic to it I love. The way snow muffles the sleeping world, how it sort of crunches as you step on it as if to announce your presence, glistening ice coating tree bark and shines like crystal in the sun, and the way falling snow gently settles on your head. The isolating feeling isn't a bitter, nasty thing. No. It's inviting one to pause and just exist. A reminder that you are here, now, and it acknowledges you by letting the world fall silent so you alone can be heard.
this music is just when you're a college student who's all alone on new years, enjoying solitude but then got hit by nostalgia train where you are surrounded by your family and the festiveness of new years, celebrating together. And you remember about those beautiful times, and then it goes back to your lonely new year.
listening to this outside the game, it sounds like death. its sad and lonely, but peaceful. it makes me imagine that im floating in nothingness thinking of nothing and everything at the same time
The very start of the show "the summer i turned pretty" when the title comes up has a couple notes that REALLY reminds me of this song. Very peaceful and calming.
Nocturne of Ice to me is like a reminder that everything will going to be fine, even though what we currently experience is not great. All we need to do is sit back down, heal yourself, prepare beforehand for the next years, for all those newly crops and works waiting for us in the next year's spring.
I remember back in 2016 I was a little bit sick on a friday, got the game the same day and all I did for 1 solid week was playing this game. When I came to winter I would reflect on how much time I had invested, managed to get about 50 hours on the game 1st week, every year I play the game again. The music really has a lot of meaning in it for me, such a nice track too.
This whole time I was playing Stardew I never listened to the music until one day I walked in my daughter's room and she was playing the game and I don't know what song was playing on the jukebox but it was pretty so I went back onto my first game on the PS4 and I found the jukebox and started playing the music and this is the best one so far
The first time I heard this song I thought it was made by c418 because it just sound like something he would made, but reading the commentaries saying it was made by Eric I'm extremely impressed he could made song that reminiscense of c418, simply amazing

You can get the magnifying glass by following the footsteps in the snow to the bush.
For me, the simple fact it's in C major makes it feel like it's cold.

Well, time to grab my Iridium Hoe and dig up the beach for snow yams and winter roots.
