The Terraria book that breaks progression… The Razorblade Typhoon. Since the introduction of Duke Fishron in Terraria 1.2, the early hardmode progression has given you quite the choice. Do you go through the game as normal mining hardmode ore and defeating the mech bosses? Or go above and beyond and take out a boss meant for post Plantera? Today we take a look at the best risk/ reward weapon in the game, which if obtained will make the rest of your playthrough laughably easy. Enjoy!

  1. It took me about more than 15 truffle and deaths atleast to defeat a giant fish trying to get that item good thing it dropped the first time i defeat it, i must say it was hell of a worth it. Im on expert mode so its hell post plantera gear, megashark with turtle armor

  2. I remember using this in 1.2 and it was so amazing. Back when your only melee options were the underwhelming Terrablade or the insanely annoying to get Horseman’s Blade, branching into the mage weapons was really the only way to get good damage output, with this thing being by far the most fun

  3. Truffle worms were a lot more rare in 1.3 and in 1.2.4 i think when fishron was added to the game also yea all fishron weapons are op since the difficulty of the boss is around or above plantera difficulty

  4. i remember getting this on my first time fighting Duke Fishron in the first world i made (back when i got the game in 2014).

    loved it, and is one reason i tend to favour the mage class.

    though i haven't fought him again since that world, lmao.

  5. how tf did you get a truffle worm so easily?!

    those mfs immediately disappear into the shadow realm the second i enter the mushroom biome >:{

  6. Realizing I have trouble with fast bosses because I use my off hand for the arrow keys, meaning my dashes come out like 2 frames later than intended. I usually save Fishron for post Moon Lord…

  7. Yeah it breaks progression, but if you've become good enough to beat duke fishron as soon as you enter hardmode, you're already beyond capable of breezing through normal progression. This is not something you do to break progression, this is something you do to spice up your 5 millionth playthrough. I'm guilty of this, I've been playing the game for years, I know every boss and their attack patterns like the back of my hand. Once you have that level of understanding about the game, you're already trying to find ways to challenge yourself anyway

  8. I miss when this weapon had a double projectile cast. Even though it arguably deals similiar damage now I miss when it was a much better crowd control weapon.

  9. To me the first battle against duke fishron immediately after wall of flesh is most difficult. He has 50 defense and only very few prehardmode weapons do more than 50 damage especially summon. At the same time that duke fishron is available the dreadnautilus is the second fishing hardmode "boss" in terraria to offer something but it does only 48 damage per hit and I don't want to fight a group of dungeon guardians coming out of the sea. So what is the best "normal" way to defeat duke fishron at this point in the game that does not allow me to use a summon except for negligible damage. So why does duke fishron have 50 defense and more if he is in expert/master and later/enraged phase. Guess which other boss have 50 defense: moon lord which is the final boss of the whole game. They also increased his hp too instead of lowering his defense.

  10. I know the controversy of this weapon, but i used to love it, not because of its dmg, but because it was incredible fun to use. If they just nerf its dmg, it could be fine, but they nerfed everything, its just not fun to play with it anymore idk. I’ll probably never use it again

  11. I firmly believe this weapon is the single best weapon in the game, not like how the Zenith does the most damage, I mean from a progression standpoint, this thing is a pre-mech weapon.
