I gotta say when I redeemed the "freeze player", there's a little bit of a delay when it goes into effect. Ash wasn't behind the tree when I spent my points.
That said… Ash's reaction was totally worth it~ >:3
In fact, forget the blackjack!
Maybe using rings could make the forest easier for Aenne? There are some really good ones you can buy from the Adventurer's Guild like the Slime Charmer Ring
(makes slimes ignore you), the Vampire Ring (restores health after killing monsters) and the Amethyst Ring (increases knockback). Or you can craft the Ring of Yoba at combat lvl.7 (gives immunity to attacks for a short while) 😁 But it should also be fine just bringing lots of food every time and running when the food runs out 😂
