With an update on the horizon, I think it’s a good time to point out the item that could best use a buff. Almost everything in the game has its own niche use EXCEPT for this. Items that were too weak or too strong in the past have been adjusted, I think it’s this item’s turn!

Hope you enjoyed this fun, short project!

  1. I guess I'm one of the only people who uses the worm bin. It's a late game time saver. I put a few next to my crab pots and never need to worry about bait. And sure they take a while to pay for themselves but they do eventually.

  2. Me, that has 1/4 of a big shed with worm bins, I don't see a downside to it. Especially when I have hundreds of crab pots to fill. The money I get in return makes up for it I feel

  3. I make two (yes, 2) worm bins per save. One is in the docks with three crab pots and a chest, and one is near my farm ponds with three crab pots, chest and 2-3 fish ponds, 5-10 preserves jars and 3-6 recyclers. I just like the handiness of having more or less the perfect amount of bait whenever I feel like going through my crab pots. Possible extra bait goes to the chest for the rare day when I get less than I need.

  4. I still feel like the Worm Bin, bad as it is, is better than the Cookout Kit. Really do not see the utility in getting that at foraging 9 when I'll already have a kitchen at home

  5. Honestly I wouldn’t mind having the output of the worm bin be tied to your fishing level, where the chance for wild bait is increased along with the amount of normal bait increasing each level. So like at level 10 you could get like 10 a day with a medium or high chance for wild bait. Tho I think for wild bait the chance should only appear once you get the recipe from Linus so you can’t just skip him entirely.

  6. I keep a worm bin next to my crab pots cause I kept forgetting to bring or purchase bait, I have adhd and that extra task had me going back and forth from the river / sea to my farm 20 times a week 😅😅

  7. Hey ConcernedApe, it isn't too late to follow Salmence's advice here for 1.6 because we all want that wild bait chance since THAT WOULD BE AMAZING (thank you for bringing that to our attention as a possibility)

  8. Ngl I had completely blocked from my memory that it takes gold to make. I can only assume that the material costs were decided based on its position in the level progression, rather than as an actual representation of its worth.

It's honestly a bizarre item. If it were cheaper, it could pay itself back in a reasonable time. If it produced more/better bait, that could also do it. But neither is the case. It almost makes me wonder if it was maybe originally supposed to accumulate worms so that you didn't have to check it daily, which would at least make it less of a chore to use, but even then that still doesn't fix the issue of the high cost.

  9. Oh lol this is assuming im not a weirdo that loves fishing and is at lvl 8 but end if spring 1 – HARDWOOD? I DONT REMEMBER USING HARDWOOD TO MAKE THAT
