In theory, the water bolt could be obtained without killing skeletron, you just need to get lucky with your world seed. Or, quickly grab it and or evade the dungeon guardian somehow.

I wouldn’t call bows a subclass, because guns are harder to obtain at the start, if anything, bows are closer to pure ranged then guns

Tbh i think spellbooks and shotguns were a bit of a streach
I know official terraria subclasses are rogue, sentry, and yoyo
I figured bows would be the offhand setup for ranger depending on how you look at it since you can technically say the same for guns too if you main bow so its still ranger and not really a subclass
The shotgun bit though i found rather silly cause theres like what 6 shotguns in the whole game and only 3 are actually usefull but you'll mostly be using 1 which is the onyx
Id say the same for the spellbooks cause theyre not exactly a subclass for mage much like shotguns theyre just another magic weapon thats thrown into the loot pool so you can actually have some progression or at least feel like you do early hardmode
Both books and shotguns dont have anything specific connected to them that increases their stats alone so they cant be viewed as an actual subclass just anothwr offhand setup for whosever dumb enough to go through prehardmode with only like 2 weapons
You also missed the rogue subclass almost entirely but i dont blame you cause its basically forgotten at this point and boomeranges are basically the only thing thatd be a genuine rogue weapon that doesnt run out on you on top of that deal enough damage to a hardmode boss
Sentries i feel like is a more reliable subclass ever since the dingeon defenders update
